When We Come Running by Youngblood Hawke hit the chorus for the first time it sent shivers down my spine. This song is really cool and Youngblood Hawke has a really different and refreshing sound.
—Gypsy Eyes
Gypsy Eyes has become my favorite Jimi Hendrix song. This song demonstrates Hendrix’s amazing guitar ability and is a true pleasure to listen to.
Jeff Buckley’s rendition of Hallelujah which was originally by Leonard Cohen created a music legend. After listening to all of Buckley’s album Grace I realized he was far more then just a brilliant cover artist. His songs Lilac Wine and Lover, You Should’ve Come Over are now on my favorites list. This is an album worth checking out.
The song Tahiti has a sound that could be compared to that of Florence from Florence and the Machine. However the song is also drastically different with more of a traditional choir feel during the chorus.

Jah Didn’t Kill Johnny by Sage Francis is not only funny and really chill, but it also makes me want to dance. This song has a really cool earthy Bob Dylan feel (it’s the harmonica) and a more modern feel hidden in it as well. This is currently my favorite song and it’s been on repeat forever. I think I’m addicted.

In Young and Cold, The Raveonettes managed to capture not only a twang folky sound, but also a slight rock sound. I really like how they intertwined a bit of piano in the song as well. All around this song really comes together to be something amazing.

Fiction might be my new favorite The xx song. This is a song I can really connect to from the rhythm to the lyrics. The xx has just outdone themselves on Coexist all around. Really I recommend anything to do with The xx.

Album of the week
Baby by Tribes
Baby by Tribes has the perfect mix of glam and grim. Tribes is very good about using the perfect amount of electronic fuzz in their songs that really give their songs character. My personal favorite song from this album is We Were Children. I was hooked from the first guitar riff.
Album of the week

This man has a beautiful voice and lyrics. Never Be Alone by Matt Walters is definitely an example of his artistry. Everyone should check him out.
